World Series of Poker

For many newcomers and curious bystanders, the game of poker is often seen as unwelcoming. My team was hired to garner interest from media and those outside of the gaming and poker community.

Our approach focused on the storylines and the people who played the game. Like any competitive sport, it is more than just a game— it’s the storylines, dedication, heartbreaks and successes that make sports interesting.

UnitedHealthcare Health Plan of Nevada Medicaid

The UnitedHealthcare Health Plan of Nevada Medicaid team asked us to promote a recent collaboration with The Just One Project, a local nonprofit organization focused on removing food insecurity in Las Vegas.  The recent high-profile killing of the UnitedHealthcare CEO put the company in a negative spotlight, which posed a challenge when pitching media. Rather than focus on the company’s monetary contribution, our approach shifted the spotlight to our partners, which garnered positive press for both The Just One Project, despite the negative sentiment surrounding UnitedHealthcare. 

The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas

My team served as an extension of The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas’ internal PR team, and was responsible for everything from drafting announcements to the creation and execution of one-off media familiarization trips. I worked on the account immediately after joining Kirvin Doak Communications and was the agency team of record until MGM International’s acquisition of the resort.
